Our SFT bangalore team organized an evening gathering with a film screening and photo exhibition to mark the birth anniversary of India’s legend Mahatma Gandhi on October 2nd. Hosted at the Tibetan Youth Hostel-Koramangla, SFT Bangalore invited Ms. Tsering Youdon, Member of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile as the chief guest, along with long-time Indian supporters to discuss the Tibetan freedom movement, which is based on Gandhi’s principles of nonviolence and truth. The evening saw a huge turnout of Tibetan and Indian youth, and the discussions ran late into the night.

SFT Delhi

SFT Deli Poetry Slam

After the successful inter-college friendly basketball tournament, SFT Delhi organized its first Poetry Slam event on October 11th. Tibetan poet Ten Phun read his poetry along with young Indian poets. Several Tibetan students shared their poems with the gatheirng . With the objective to bring together poets and young people writing and working for all kinds of individual and collective freedoms, the open mic poetry slam was held at Cafe Red in Delhi’s upcoming art district Shahpur Jat.
