Chapter Visit 2016

SFT – India with the goal of recruiting more Indian and Tibetan youth in the Tibetan Freedom Movement, we embarked on a journey to eleven major Indian cities namely Chandigarh, Delhi, Udaipur, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata, in August, 2011

This has now become a major part of SFT – India. This has enabled us to have a direct communication with the people working in their respective regions and being able to learn, share and work for the Tibetan Freedom movement.

Since its inception we have given more than 8000 talks and recruited hundreds of youth in the movement.

Virtual Chapter meet: 2020

Dharamsala, 19th sept: This year’s Chapter Visit has revamped into Chapter Meet online given the current situation of the covid-19 Pandemic. It has been an interactive virtual meet with members of SFT chapters all around India concentrating on the topic ‘Importance of Youth Involvement in the Tibetan Freedom Movement’.

Student for free Tibet- India invited the guest speaker Jyotsna Sara George, who’s a prominent activist and the former Campaigns Director of SFT-India.

 

 
Chapter visit: sept 2019

This year our National Director- Rinzin Choedon and Grassroots Director- Phakdon  kick-start their 1-month Chapter Visit and Speaking Tour across major Indian cities, visiting Baroda, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Delhi where we will be meeting with Indian youths, social activists and Tibet supporters all over India. This is one of our main programs to reconnect with our members and chapter leaders all over the country, and recruiting new members, inspiring young Indians to Take Action for Tibet.

 

CHAPTER VISIT 2018

SFT – India Launched it’s Chapter Visit Vlog in 2018,
SFT is built on grassroots, community organizing, and creative fun actions. We encourage everyone to start a chapter in their community to pave a road to a free and independent Tibet. Only with the involvement of diverse, local groups is our mission possible.

 

 

CHAPTER VISIT 2017

SFT – India’s Grassroots Director Rinzin Choedon and Intern Tenzin Dakpa began their 1-month Chapter Visit and Speaking Tour across major Indian cities. They were able to revive SFT – Mumbai chapter along with setting up an internship program with them. During their visit they met SFT – Guwahati chapter for the first time, followed by number of events in TISS Guwahati. This is one of our main programs to reconnect with our members and chapter leaders all over the country, and recruiting new members, inspiring young Indians to Take Action for Tibet. 

CHAPTER VISIT 2016

SFT India’s Grassroots Director Rinzin Choedon and Programs Director Lobsang Tseten went for a one month Chapter visit, they were able to do one regional training in Delhi with 25 participants and went to Ahmedabad for the first time, they were able to start SFT – Goa chapter which enabled us to organise protest during Xi Jinping’s visit for BRICCS summit – 2016. This is one of our main programs to reconnect with our members and chapter leaders all over the country, and recruiting new members, inspiring young Indians to Take Action for Tibet. 

CHAPTER VISIT 2015

SFT – India’s Grassroots Director Rinzin Choedon and Campaigns Director Jyotsna Sara George has visited 10 major Indian cities to being awareness on Tibet issue, Their visit to Chennai has enabled internship program with them and was also able strengthen SFT – Delhi and Bangalore chapter which has now become two of the most active chapters in India. During their visit they were able to screen Tibetan documentaries in different schools and universities.

CHAPTER VISIT 2014

SFT – India’s Grassroots Director Tenzin Tselha and Campaigns Director Jyotsna Sara George went for a month long chapter visit to 10 different cities in India and also conducted three regional trainings in Delhi, Bangalore and Sikkim. They were also able to start Internship program with Symbiosis university which later became SFT – Pune chapter. During their visit they were able to connect with Symbiosis Viman Nagar where interns came to Dharamshala and later became the chapter co-ordinators of SFT – Pune.

CHAPTER VISIT 2013

SFT – India’s Grassroots Director Tenzin Tselha went for a month long Chapter visit to 5 different cities in India. During her visit she was able to do one regional training in Sikkim and was also able to revive SFT – Pune. During her visit she was able to build connections with SFT – Mumbai.

CHAPTER VISIT 2011

Students for a Free Tibet- India began its journey on 21st of august and successfully concluded a month journey in  eleven major Indian cities namely Chandigarh,Delhi,Udaipur,Rajkot, Ahemadabad,Baroda, Pune,Mumbai, Banglore,Chennai and Kolkotta.The main objective of the visit is to raise awareness on the Tibet issue and to recruit new active members and Tibet supporters among the Indian youth and students in SFT.
